Urologist

In the same year, Şerefoğlu began his residency training in General Surgery at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. After June 2004, he continued his residency in Urology at Ankara Atatürk Training and Research Hospital, becoming a urologist in April 2009. During his residency, Dr. Şerefoğlu had the opportunity to publish his work on erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation in national and international scientific journals. He also conducted research on pediatric urology at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and Radboud University Urology Department (Netherlands) during his training. After serving for two years at Mardin Kızıltepe State Hospital as part of his mandatory public service, he began working in the field of Andrology at Tulane University Faculty of Medicine (USA) in 2010. Dr. Şerefoğlu worked in the Urology Departments of Ankara Medicana International Hospital (2012-2013) and Istanbul Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital (2013-2017). Dr. Şerefoğlu earned the title of Associate Professor of Urology in 2014. A member of numerous national and international urology associations, Dr. Şerefoğlu serves on the Scientific Committee of the European Society for Sexual Health (ESSM), the Strategy and Development/Communication Committee of the International Society for Sexual Health (ISSM), the Young Academic Urology Study Group of the European Urological Association (EAU), and the Guidelines Committee on Male Sexual Dysfunction. He also serves as the General Secretary of the Sexual Health Section of the European Union of Medical Specialties (UEMS). For his work, Dr. Şerefoğlu was awarded the “Amsterdam Young Scientist” award in 2012.
